Recently, the flexible DC transformer independently developed and designed by Xidian Xibian for the Three Gorges Yangjiang Qingzhou No. 5 and No. 7 offshore wind power projects successfully passed all factory tests in one go. This flexible DC transformer is the largest three-phase, integrated, 500kV on-load tap-changing flexible DC transformer in China . Its successful development marks a major breakthrough for Xidian Xibian in the field of high-capacity, long-distance flexible DC transmission for offshore wind power.

In terms of design, the flexible DC transformer adopts symmetrical single-pole flexible DC transmission technology. Through refined design and the application of innovative technologies such as "copper magnetic shielding", it significantly reduces losses, temperature rise and noise, meeting the requirements of high-efficiency energy saving and environmental protection; it adopts a three-phase five-column iron core structure, and the winding design has excellent impact tolerance performance; the body and leads are optimized through electric field analysis, which improves the compactness, reliability and economy of the product.

The successful development of this product, under the current trend of continuous expansion of offshore wind power transmission capacity, continuous increase in offshore distance, and widespread application of flexible DC transmission technology, not only fills the technical gap in the field of ultra-large capacity flexible DC transmission transformers in China , but also provides key equipment support for the efficient and stable power transmission of subsequent large-scale deep-sea wind farms.
